Hifz is a purely Arabic name derived from classical Arabic vocabulary and Islamic tradition. It originates from the Quranic root word and has been used as both a descriptive term and personal name throughout Islamic history.
In Islamic culture, Hifz holds profound spiritual importance, particularly in the context of Quranic memorization (huffaz). As a personal name, Hifz embodies the virtue of protection and preservation, reflecting parental hopes that the child will be guarded, righteous, and a guardian of Islamic knowledge and values.
