This name originates from Classical Arabic and Islamic tradition. It is derived from one of the Divine Names in Islam—As-Saboor (The Patient One)—reflecting the Islamic emphasis on divine and human patience as a cornerstone virtue.
In Arab and Islamic culture, Sabura represents a woman of strong character and spiritual resilience. The virtue of patience (sabr) is repeatedly praised in the Quran and Hadith as essential to faith and moral development. Names derived from As-Saboor emphasize a connection to this Islamic value, making them popular among Muslim families seeking to instill these qualities in their daughters.

“You will surely be tested in your possessions and in yourselves. And you will hear from those who were given the Scripture before you and from those who associate others with Allah much abuse. But if you are patient and fear Allah—indeed, that is of the matters of resolve.”
“And We made from among them leaders guiding by Our command when they were patient and when they were certain of Our verses.”
